1. Who controls your data

Gazerr is the data controller for the personal data described here.

For any privacy question or to exercise the rights in section 9, write to hello@gazerr.com. We answer within one month.

2. The short version

We do not sell your personal data. We never have and we do not intend to.

We do use the data the platform generates to make Gazerr better: to improve matching between briefs and gazers, to keep our rate guidance accurate, to detect fraud, and to build more intelligent, partly automated features that make the product faster and more useful. That work is done on our own platform data, for our own product.

Gazer profile data may also be shared with affiliated companies in our group so that gazers can be considered for work beyond Gazerr. That is described in full in section 6, and you can object to it.

3. What we collect

Account data: name, email address, role, company name and website, languages, and the city you work or book in.

Gazer profile data: biography, specialties, experience level, day-rate notes, equipment and rental costs, vehicle details, portfolio and showcase images, brand affiliations, and a photo of an identity document where we verify you.

Verification data for clients: verified email, phone number where required, and the billing address collected by our payment provider at checkout.

Payment data: credit purchases, balances, escrow holds, transactions, commissions, payout requests and the IBAN gazers give us for payouts. We never see or store your full card number - that stays with our payment provider.

Brief and delivery data: everything in a brief, including locations and their coordinates, meeting instructions, dates, delivered files and their capture location and time, check-in and check-out coordinates where a brief uses them, and proof-of-stay uploads.

Communications: in-platform messages between clients and gazers, support messages, rate feedback, reviews and notifications. Automated checks may flag messages that look like off-platform contact, and the team may review that thread.

Technical data: sign-in records, device and browser information, and server logs. We use browser local storage to remember your language and your chosen rate-guide city; we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

4. Why we use it, and on what legal basis

To run your account and perform our contract with you: creating briefs, matching gazers, holding escrow, taking payment, paying out, and handling disputes. Legal basis: performance of a contract.

To verify identity before sending a person to a physical location, and to prevent fraud, chargebacks and abuse, including by flagging in-platform messages that look like off-platform contact so the team can review that thread. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the safety of the people on our platform, and compliance with legal obligations.

To improve and develop the platform, including analytics, quality monitoring, rate calibration and building automated or AI-assisted features that improve matching, pricing and moderation. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving our service. Wherever this does not require identifying anyone, we use aggregated or pseudonymised data.

To send you service messages about your briefs, deliveries, payments and account. Legal basis: performance of a contract.

To send marketing, where you have asked for it. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

To meet accounting, tax and legal obligations. Legal basis: legal obligation.

5. We do not sell your data

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.

We do not use the content that clients commission and gazers deliver as a product to be sold on. Delivered client work is not licensed to third parties by us.

6. Sharing with companies in our group

Gazerr is part of a group. Where a gazer has built a profile with us, we may share that profile - name, specialties, experience, city, portfolio and showcase images, and platform performance such as completed jobs and average rating - with affiliated companies within our group so that the gazer can be considered for opportunities beyond Gazerr.

The purpose is to widen the range of paid work available to our creators, and to let the group draw on a talent base rather than starting from nothing each time.

We share the professional profile only. We do not share identity documents, phone numbers, home or billing addresses, IBANs, payment history, or private messages.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest, and the interest of gazers, in creating additional work opportunities. You have an absolute right to object to this specific sharing, and objecting will not affect your standing on Gazerr in any way. Email us and we will exclude your profile.

Client data is not shared with group companies for talent sourcing.

7. Service providers who process data for us

Supabase - database, authentication and file storage, including identity documents and delivered files.

Stripe - card payments, billing address collection and customer records. Stripe is an independent controller for its own fraud-prevention purposes.

Vercel - hosting and server logs.

Mapbox - address autocomplete and maps. Addresses you type into a location field are sent to Mapbox to be resolved.

Resend - transactional email such as brief alerts and assignment notices.

An SMS provider configured on our authentication platform, where phone verification is switched on, to deliver one-time codes.

WhatsApp, operated by Meta, if you choose to contact support through it. Anything you send there is handled under Meta's own terms, not ours.

Each of these is bound to process data only on our instructions, except where noted above.

8. Storage, transfers and retention

Our database and file storage are hosted in the European Union. Some providers listed above operate outside the EU; where personal data leaves the European Economic Area, it is protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

We keep account data for as long as your account is open. After closure we delete or anonymise it within 90 days, except records we must keep longer: transaction and invoicing records for the statutory accounting period, and anything needed for an unresolved dispute or legal claim.

Delivered files remain available to the client for the licence period described in our Terms. Identity documents are kept only while verification is active and deleted when the account closes.

9. Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, withdraw consent where we relied on it, and receive your data in a portable format.

You have a specific right to object to the group sharing in section 6 and to any processing based on legitimate interest.

To exercise any of these, email hello@gazerr.com. There is no charge and we reply within one month.

Account deletion is currently handled by our team rather than a button in the app: email us and we will confirm once it is done, including anything that must be retained and why.

If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first - but you are entitled to complain directly to the data protection authority in the country where you live.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Identity documents, vehicle photos and portfolio files are held in private storage that is not publicly reachable. Access by our staff is limited to those who need it to run the platform and resolve disputes.

Credit balances can only be changed by our servers; the database rejects any attempt to alter a balance from a browser.

If a breach occurs that is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify the relevant authority within 72 hours and tell you without undue delay.

11. Children

Gazerr is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we delete any account we find belongs to one.

12. Changes

We will update this policy as the platform changes. Where a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you before it takes effect rather than quietly amending this page.
